Unfinished Business: Standing Up for Our Kids Against Harmful Ideologies

As of September 1, 2025, I’m officially launching my campaign for the Anchorage School Board under the banner “Unfinished Business.” Because let’s be honest and crystal clear. This fight is far from over. If you’re a parent like me, exhausted by the constant battles, frustrated by how far common sense has fallen off the radar, and heartbroken watching our kids become pawns in someone else’s ideological game, you’re not alone. I’m right there with you. I’ve stood firm when others caved to save themselves politically. I’ve spoken up when it cost me, but the result was over 24,000 Anchorage voters selecting my name on the ballot to represent the silent majority. And I’ll continue to do so, not for likes or headlines, but because our kids deserve better. Period. We can do better than a 25% voter turnout. I aim to ensure more voices are heard. The people who come after me, smearing and slandering, don’t care about protecting children. They’re too busy defending an agenda, one that places ideology over well-being and silence over truth. They’ve called me a “white nationalist” while ignoring my Hispanic heritage, my grandma surviving Dachau in WWII, and my Veteran 20+ year honorable service, simply because I demand accountability on gender ideology. They’ve twisted my historical facts into "Hitler praise" to celebrate my election loss like it's a win for partisan games. Hiding behind anonymity to label me a "Nazi in hiding." Claiming that stating facts makes someone a Nazi. Not to mention the Bluesky and Reddit mobs urging "confrontations" at my events, calling me a "white nationalist creep" without a shred of proof. Some would be put off by this and shy away from going another round, I welcome it. I have spent over 10 years overseas, and in hostile environments defending this country and our freedoms, its time to take that experience and use it right here at home.
You think slinging these slurs will silence me? Wrong. It exposes your inability to debate the facts, so you settle for slurs. I've never apologized for my words, and I won't start now. My stance is clear. I say the quiet part out loud, what many of us are thinking, and it resonates with thousands. Those who push this harmful gender ideology on minors, subjecting kids to puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries that can lead to lifelong regret, infertility, and health issues, deserve to be held accountable under the law, including jail time for the most serious cases of abuse. That's not hate. That's protecting children from irreversible harm. And events like this week's Minneapolis horror prove it. Robert Paul Westman, enabled by his parents' affirmation of his transition (including a court-supported name change to Robin in 2020), fired over 120 rounds into a Catholic church, killing two innocent kids and wounding 17 more before ending his own life.
In his manifesto and videos, he confessed to being "tired of being trans," wishing he "never brain-washed" himself, all while obsessing over mass shooters, spewing anti-Semitic and racial hate, and fantasizing about harming children. Absolutely sick and screams mental health issues are going unaddressed.
That's three young lives destroyed. Two murdered children and Westman himself, lost to a delusion society affirmed instead of treating his obvious mental illness. This is heartbreaking. Preventable. And infuriating. How many more kids need to die, suffer, or regret irreversible choices before we say enough?
This isn't isolated. Detransitioners are speaking out everywhere. Kids subjected to chemical or surgical interventions, regretting decisions pushed by ideologues, facing bone density loss, sterility, and depression. Predators exploit it too. Men claiming trans status to invade women's spaces and assault victims. And mass shootings? From Audrey Hale in Nashville to Westman, the pattern screams ignored red flags in the name of "affirmation." You critics? You're complicit. By defending this ideology, smearing those who call it out, and refusing accountability, YOU harm kids. Full stop. Your slurs don't protect anyone. They enable the real evil. I see you.
I've faced the attacks during my school board run and beyond, just like they're doing to other elected officials and those running for office now. But sides are chosen. As a Dad, Veteran, and educator, I'm proud to stand against this madness. I have proven that I can stand up for kids. Those willing to fight me do not share my same protective traits. They want to exploit and take advantage of our education system for their own gain. And they are willing to harm kiddos.
If you’re a parent who’s had that gut feeling something isn’t right, who’s been afraid to speak out because you might be labeled or shamed, I hear you. I see you. I’m standing up so you don’t have to stand alone anymore. It’s time to hold adults accountable, especially those who have influenced parents' decisions. It’s time to protect children, not politicize them. It’s time to take back our schools and return them to places where learning, not indoctrination, happens. If you believe it’s time to stand up for truth, safety, and parental rights, then join me: http://alexforschoolboardak.com We can do this, together. Please share this with a friend, co-worker, parents, and everyone you know. If you are willing to stand with me, make a donation of only $5. I promise, it will go a long way in combatting the $60,000+ other candidates will spend. I am THE fiscally responsible candidate and a proven steward of resources. In God We Trust. We have work to do.
