Responding to the Latest Smear Mailer: The Facts, Not the Fiction
- 3 days ago

A negative mailer has been sent out across Anchorage attacking my campaign for Anchorage School Board. It calls me "too extreme" and repeats old, distorted claims about my positions and past posts. Instead of dodging or ignoring it, I want everyone... whether you're on X, Facebook, email, or just checking the website to see my full, unfiltered response.
Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs. - Proverbs 10:12
I posted this thread on my personal X account (@DadVetForAK) to set the record straight. Here it is, copied exactly as I wrote it, including the bonus post addressing a new rumor floating around. It is spicy!
But for starters, check out the blame name game post that alerted the crew.

Guess it's only fair to use my personal account to call out the BS in this mailer that's circulating. People deserve the real facts, not smears.
Even though I have addressed every smear for almost 2 years now, these people don't like truth that is not theirs and keep repeating the same lies. This actually helps my campaign.
Here it is.
Thread: Let's break it down point by point.
🧵1/7 (correction)

They label me as "TOO EXTREME" for our schools. Ok, lets look at the facts.
First claim: Called for ASD to be shut down.
Yes I have said that (Probably... their posted date does not match up). We are dead last in the nation for results while top 5 in spending. I have witnessed it firsthand and heard dozens of horror stories from parents about unsafe conditions and terrible outcomes.
This is exactly why Alaska ranks top in the nation for homeschooling. Parents value safety and real education results. If ASD refuses to improve dramatically, then yes it deserves to be shut down and replaced with something better.
How is parent-driven accountability extreme? 2/7
Second claim: Said parents who disagree should be criminally punished.
What I actually believe: Parents who attempt to transition their minor children through irreversible medical procedures are committing child abuse. Children cannot consent!
We need to ban trans ideology from being pushed in schools and stop labeling children as "trans kids." This is not truth and it is harming children by causing irreversible damage mentally and physically.
Alaska's own medical board has come out saying gender mutilation needs to stop. Protecting children at all costs is not extreme. It should be the norm.
Real men stand up for vulnerable kids. 3/7
Third claim: Advocated for Bible-based education in public schools.
We need Biblical values and God put back into our classrooms. What we have now is ideology that is fueling the largest mental health crisis and population decline in our communities.
Schools should educate kids, not indoctrinate them. If we can have a Bible in every hotel room across America, then why not make them available in schools?
Prayer is already allowed under the law. This is not extreme.
This is what America was founded on. 4/7
Fourth claim: Praised Hitler on social media.
No. That is a flat-out distortion. The person at the center of it all is a disgraced Army officer calling himself a 'nazi hunter'.
Look at the actual tweet and context. I made a narrow historical observation about early economic policies pulling Germany out of collapse, which is factually true before the atrocities began. I covered the horrors, the Holocaust, and the evil in subsequent tweets and discussions all through my nearly 15,000 (actual number is 27,400) tweets. But they hang on to just one as confirmation bias 'proof'.
My grandmother survived Dachau concentration camp. She passed away this Christmas 2025. I learned the real pre- and post-war history of Germany from someone who lived through it and was persecuted by that regime. I also lived in Germany for 4 years and had many neighbors that spoke of the evil.
These people want to label me a nazi because of one incomplete phrase taken out of context. I know what real nazis are. This smear dishonors survivors like my grandma.
Not extreme. Just history discussed by adults. Hijacked by trolls.
If you want to know the character of the original person making these accusations, come out to VFW Post 9785 and discuss it with his squad members as to why he was kicked out of the Army. That is extreme. 5/7
Betsy says she doesn't like negative campaign messages. But she is the same person who participates in ICE protests and supports a radical agenda that enables genocide right here at home.
That is extreme. And dangerous.
This mailer cost tens of thousands of dollars because they know Rachel represents the status quo that has driven ASD to last place nationally.
They fear real change for our kids and will lie to keep the education cabal in tact. They even have t-shirts stating they know better than parents about educating your kids.
That is also extreme. 6/7
People deserve the truth. This flyer isn't it.
Truth over smears. Focus on fixing schools: parental rights, safety, actual learning outcomes, no indoctrination.

Your vote matters for Anchorage kids.
Thanks for reading the whole thread. Share if you agree. Reach out if you have any questions. Transparency is key. I am a 20 year Air Force Veteran, a Dad with daughters, educator in the district, coach and volunteer in our community, and NOT a politician.
Vote by April 7th. 7/7
Bonus Post:
I am being told that there are grumblings on Facebook about people on Betsy's page saying that I have lost custody of my kids.
This is also completely untrue. Anyone who knows me, knows this as a blatant lie. It is funny to me that they are willing to spend so much money to lie. But this is what these evil people do and why our schools suffer.
I am running to not only improve my kids' educational outcomes in our public schools, but also every other student that I have been around and every kiddo that I have coached in the past 5 years.
I am being a Dad and a man they can all look up to.
That's the complete response. Smears like this happen when people are scared of real accountability in our schools. I'm focused on results for Anchorage kids, not politics as usual.
If you're in Anchorage and want safer schools, better outcomes, and parents back in charge, visit https://www.alexforschoolboardak.com/ for more details. Early voting is underway, make your voice heard by April 7th.
